Crimson Sunrise is a tall, vigorous Rhubarb with highly decorative, dense green leaves. The stems are long, relatively skinny and bright red in winter and summer. It is a great addition to your kitchen garden, perhaps next to the herbs. Crimson Sunrise rarely goes to seed.
The young stems can be eaten raw dipped in sugar. Rhubarb is of course best stewed with sugar and made into delicious treats such as a good Crumble. Perhaps even with a bit of apple. It's important to note that the leaves are poisonous.
